With the Eurovision Top 5 Prediction competition closing on Saturday night, it looks like we could bee heading for a record number of entries. It's time to have another check on the predictions that we have received so far. We now have over five hundred entries from over forty countries. You can find these predictions here. Entries received after midday on Monday May 10th will be added in the final update and you can submit your prediction until midday on May 15th, using the form on this page.

We now have predictions that include all 39 of the countries that are competing in Oslo and 32 of the 39 have at lest one person who thinks that they will win.

The table below represents all the predictions that we have received so far and there is very limited change from a previous table, which we published after we had received our first 250 predictions. The Top 5 are exactly as they were, with Azerbaijan if anything stretching its lead. The only major change in the Top 10, is Norway who are slipping three places.

Outside the Top 10, the biggest mover is the Cypriot entry "Life Looks Better In Spring", performed by Jon Lilygreen & The Islanders (pictured left), moving up ten positions from #28 to #18.

One thing that the table also confirms is that the second semi-final with the countries shaded in pink is seen as being much stronger than the first semi-final (countries shaded in brown).

We will be posting one final update to the table, after the entry period for the competition has closed.

COMMENTS

"Slovakia deserves but Safura is the potential winner due to Soviet block voting, does not matter if it's juries or the public." - Eesti Wala (predicting Azerbaijan to win).

"I can't see the Azeri Rhianna-rip off wowing the juries. And if it did win, it'd be a commercial flop on a Dima Bilan-esque scale." - RIchard Scholey (predicting Spain)

"It's pretty hard to determine this year but with the hype, attention and chart success it's been getting around Europe even before the contest has started, I'd be gobsmacked if Germany fell to their usual bottom half of the scoreboard". - Richard Stuart-Turner (predicting Germany)

"Sweden has a nice, gentle ballad that stands in stark contrast to the bought Azerbaijani artificial vocal fiasco and should do well, depending on the performance though. Turkey will also be up there certainly. What I don't see is a success of the German entry whatsoever." - Christian Welisch (predicting Sweden)

"Armenia has always been a strong contender since their debut in 2006 and I think that they've served their time. As long as she gives a good vocal performance, I think Eva's song will contrast nicely to all the ballads on offer and could just take the title." - Colin McKnight (predicting Armenia)

"I really do have a funny feeling that the winner will be Belgium. This is the best song in competition, reminds me of "Walking in Mephis", the build-up is really nice, good looking boy, and good voice. I wouldn't be surprised to hear lots of "Belgium 12 points" - Alex (predicting Belgium)

"This year the contest is like the Grand National, any one of these donkeys could win. But I genuinely feel that this years winner won't be an ooomph song but a very simple song that is delivered well and gets a good message across. I am going for Cyprus because it builds to a beautiful gospel rapture and on first listen it gives goosebumps. Added to the fact that stage presentations will be muted this year without led screens and all the bling, the melody and performer are more vital than ever." - Chris Andrews (predicting Cyprus)

"All the ballads will cancel each other out with Israel doing best.- Ricky Paul (predicting Denmark)

"I think that the ballads will cancel each other out but hopefully in a perfect world the best three will make the Top 5. Turkey's song works on every level. It is catchy upbeat different and supported by a strong diaspora which for me is the recipe for Eurovision success." - Ohioma (predicting Turkey)

"It's very hard to make a prediction this year. For me Israel and Belgium are by far the best songs in the contest. I hope to see one of them winning this year's Grand Prix." - Stephan Monsieur (predicting Israel)

"Greece is a good outsider that might win, they have diaspora, the same kind of song as in 2005. Juries had Moldova 2009 in their top 10 with the same ethnic vibes, why not Greece? Plus this year has a lot of ballads.." - Jean-Philippe Correia (predicting Greece)

"I think it will be a ballad this year, this is what Ireland do best and what a voice,. Niamh to win" - Andrew Crawford (predicting Ireland)
